Leo Warren Shields, 92, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday December 18, 2015 at River Cities Community Church (4386 Rt. 60 E.), with Pastor Larry A. Greene officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Warren was born October 27, 1923 in St. Albans, WV, a son of the late Elmi and Helen Bryan Shields. He was a WWII Army veteran, retired from CSX in the drafting department, was a founding member of River Cities Community Church, a deacon, and former treasure and trustee. He was also preceded in death by his wife Julia Ann Shields. Survivors include his son, Gregory Shields, one grandson, Alston G. Shields of Raleigh, NC, a brother-in-law, Charles "Boots" Elam of Wilmington, NC and his faithful dog Happy. Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may visit with the family at the church after noon on Friday. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
