Mildred Minerva Elkins, 93, of Huntington, WV, widow of William J. Elkins, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015, at her residence. She was a homemaker. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, October 26, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington with Rev. B. Clee Egnor and Pastor John M. Duffy officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born April 24, 1922, in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Newton Francis and Verla Hicks Adkins. Two daughters, Twyla Elkins and Donna Gail Elkins also preceded her in death. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn and David L. Adams of Ona, and Alfreda Hilling and fiance, Quintin Chaney of Huntington; one son and daughter-in-law, William J. Elkins, Jr., and Delcie of Ceredo; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
