Obituary

Margaret Elaine Leach Muth, 56, of Huntington, WV, passed away early Saturday morning, October 17, 2015, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Born on February 5, 1959 to the late James E. "Jim" and Elizabeth Ann "Pinky" Moss Leach, Margaret was a life-long resident of Huntington, a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years and very best friend/soulmate, Peter (Pete) Francis Muth; her two wonderful children, whom she loved more than anything, daughter Megan Muth and her fiancee Aaron McClung and their beautiful child and the shining-star of Margaret's life Lydia Margaret Muth McClung; and son Peter Francis Jr. (Petie) Muth and his companion Caitlin Beaman; and her close and loving family including brother Jim Leach and his wife Sheila, sister Marie Maunz and her husband Ed, sister Amy Aluise and her husband David and sister Lynn Ferguson; twelve nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a treasure trove of close friends and in-laws, all of whom she loved dearly. Her great passion in life was her family and her beloved second-graders of Our Lady of Fatima School. Graduating from St. Joseph's High School and Marshall University, Margaret became the second grade teacher at Our Lady of Fatima School where she taught for over thirty years. During that time, Margaret was privileged to guide and teach hundreds of children, all of whom she loved and enjoyed and many of whom she developed lasting relationships. Fighting cancer for the last five months, Margaret was lovingly cared for by her husband and children and their companions. The family is appreciative of the many doctors and nurses who helped and treated Margaret. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, and from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Church and a Mass of Christian Burial service will be held afterwards at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Godwin and Father Dean Borgmeyer celebrants. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Fatima Parish School Margaret Muth Scholarship.
