James E "Johnny" "Big John" Shafer, 55, of South Point, OH, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015. He was born August 10, 1960, a son of Bill Shafer, and the late Dorothy Shafer. He was the owner of Granny's Gifts and Collectibles, and was also the President of the Council of 14 West Senior Center. In addition to his mother, one brother, Billy Allen "Bubbo" Shafer also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, and the woman that was so much in love with him, Monica; sons David (Tina) Shafer of Barboursville, WV, and Joshua (Jessica) Shafer of Huntington; brother Billy (Michelle) Shafer; sisters Martena (Donald) Cremeans, Glenda (Joel) Black, Pauletta (Kimbo) Lewis, Ireta Shafer (John); a host of loved nieces and nephews; a dear friend David Smith; and his entertainment/companion for the last 6 months, Jasper. Friends will be celebrating his life from 5-7 p.m. at Chapman's Mortuary on Friday, October 23, 2015.
