Obituary



Freddie Lee Martin Adams, 92, of Barboursville, widow of Jack Lee Adams, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, July 13, 2018 from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born June 24, 1926 in Huntington a daughter of the late John Franklin and Anna Patrick Martin. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Florence Martin Stephenson, one step-sister, Virginia White and two brothers, Pete and Roger Martin. Freddie was married for 62 years to Jack providing him and her children a beautiful home setting. She was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church and a 60-year member of the United Methodist Women's Society. She loved all children especially her family and extended family having taken care of all of them at one time or another. Freddie was a beautiful Hostess and was a wonderful cook. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Lee Adams Spence and her husband Donald L. Spence of Huntington and Deborah Adams Manning, with whom she made her home; four grandchildren and spouses, Donald Lee Spence, Jr. and Delores Spence, Scott Franklin Spence and Lorrie Spence, Melissa Ann Mills and Ashley Mills, and Jacqueline Lee Chevalier and Paul Chevalier; six great grandchildren, Abbigail Adkins, Kristofer Adkins, Ian Spence, Tyler Spence, Caroline Chevalier, and Jackson Chevalier; a brother, John Martin of Barboursville; and many loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, July 16, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Donna Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Donations would be appreciated to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in her name. Friends may visit family one hour prior to the funeral at Chapman's Mortuary.
