Obituary



Esther Opal Bailey Jordan, 92, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born April 5, 1926 in Rock, WV a daughter of the late Lunsford and Rosa Belle Alice Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Wayne Jordan, Jr.; two sisters, Hazel Watts and Evelyn Adkins; and a brother, Morris Bailey. She was the last living member of her family and her husband's family. She was retired from the billing department at Cabell Huntington Hospital after 37 years of service and was a member of Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn (Jack) Hager of Bluefield, WV and Peggy (David) Cotton of Huntington; a son, Wayne (Susie) Jordan of Guyton, GA; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Hensley, Jeffrey (Lisa) Hager, Dwayne (Christy) Jordan, Justin (Annette) Jordan, David Cotton, Jr. (Traci) and Shawn (Amy) Cotton; eight great grandchildren, Jeffrey Watkins, Luke Jordan, Garrett Jordan, Austin Jordan, Peyton Bowers, Rogan Cotton, Henry Cotton, and Miles Cotton. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Gordon Rutherford officiating. Entombment will be in White Chapel Mausoleum, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be form noon to 1:00 pm Friday at Chapman's Mortuary.
