Robert Edgar Lieving, 92, of Huntington, widower of Claire Lieving, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, September 6, 2018, at St. John's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Lisa Graves officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. A reception will be held following the service at the church. He was born February 27, 1926, in Mason, WV, a son of the late Adlai S. and Callie Gilliand Lieving. One sister, Louise Roof and one grandson, Gregory Hall also preceded him in death. He was a US Navy veteran, graduated from Duke University, a retired civil engineer and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Survivors include three daughters and their spouses; Karen and Ed Morrison of Huntington, Linda and David Eplin of Columbus, OH, Nancy and Doug Hall of Proctorville, OH; one son and his spouse, Bob and Kathy Lieving of Huntington; 6 grandchildren, Mary Beth Anderson (Kit), Eddie Morrison (Erika), Matt Lieving, Sarah Smalley, David Eplin II, and Nick Smith; one step-grandchild, Jenni Hall; 11 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Ronald McDonald House or St. John's Episcopal Church. Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
