ObituarySusan Louise Altizer
Call
Susan Louise Altizer Call unexpectedly departed this life Friday, March 9th, leaving behind a heartbroken family. She was preceded in death by her beloved father Earl Altizer. She leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, John Call of Barboursville; her daughters Johnna (Willie) Adkins of Wayne, Karen (Jim) Butcher of Madison, and Leigh Anne (Tom) Roten of Barboursville; her mother Eloise Baumgardner of Barboursville; ten grandchildren Evan, Jonathan, Ryan, and Jenna Butcher of Madison, Braden, Joshua, Samuel, and Sutton Roten of Barboursville, and Camron and Kaitlyn Pullin of Flatwoods KY; and “adopted children” Lora Beth and Jeremy Pullin of Flatwoods KY. A 1964 graduate of Barboursville High, she was proudly a stay-at-home mother for many years before working for Drs. Sadler, Saxe, and Harris when her kids got older. She was a long-standing member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, where she loved to sing in the choir and lead women’s Bible studies. She enjoyed hearing her daughters sing together in church as well as hosting big family gatherings at her home. Most important in her life was her faith in Jesus Christ, with whom she now lives triumphant. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, Barboursville, by Rev. Kevin Lantz and Rev. Jim Butcher. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
