(February 28, 1931 - March 24, 2018)

Doris Eleanor (Smith) Davis, 87, of Barboursville, WV (formerly of Milton, WV) passed away at home, March 24, 2018. She was the widow of Donald L. Davis, her loving husband of 64 years. Doris was born in Huntington, WV, February 28, 1931 to James Calvin and Minnesota Bates Smith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Wtulich; and three brothers, Paul, Doyle, and Robert Smith. She is survived by her son, Dr. Mark (Myranda) Davis of Bluffton, SC; her daughter, Karen Davis of Barboursville, WV; and her son, Steve (Brenda) Davis of Winfield, IL and their children, Megan Davis of Chicago, IL and Phil Davis of Chicago, IL. Additional grandchildren include: Blake (Jami) Davis and their son, Brooks of Teas Valley, WV, and Erik Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Mrs. Davis graduated from Huntington East High School in 1948 and also attended Marshall University. In addition to being highly involved in her children’s lives and supportive of various family-owned businesses, Doris did beautiful cross stitch, was an excellent seamstress; and also owned a fabric store in Milton, WV in the early 70s. More than anything, her greatest joy came from being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Services will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV on Saturday, March 31, 2 p.m. with visitation at 1:30.
