John E. Bledsoe, Sr.
(July 13, 1954 - December 30, 2012)



John E. Bledsoe, Sr. “Big John”, 58 of Milton, WV, died Sunday December 30, 2012 in Glendale, WV. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday January 3, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. John was born July 13, 1954 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Pansy K. Harshbarger Saunders. He was the former Milton Chief of Police and was an employee of the Cabell County Board of Education. He was a member of the Lebanon Lodge #68 A.F. & A.M. whose members will conduct Masonic graveside rites, the Milton Chapter #149 O.E.S. whose members will have an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 PM Wednesday, Scottish Rites of Free Masonry whose members will conduct a Scottish Rites service at 7:00 PM Wednesday, a member of the Union Baptist Church of Milton, the Southern Gospel Music Associating where he was nominated for male vocalist and quartet of the year, nominated for song of the year, “I Know Where You Are”, sang in quartets for the past 35 years and was an honorary Nebraska Safety Patrolman . He was a loving Grandpa and loved to see people smile and get saved. He was preceded in death by his daughter Crystal Lee Bledsoe and his maternal grandparents, Virginia & Earl Harshbarger. Survivors include his loving wife Deborah Bledsoe, two sons; John E. Bledsoe, Jr. “Little John” and wife Kristin of Chadds Ford, PA, and Blake Bledsoe of Milton, four grandchildren, Destiny, Dylan, Priscilla, & Savannah Bledsoe all of Chadds Ford, PA. The Milton Police Department will conduct police graveside honors. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday January 2, 2013.
