Cora Bell O'Dell
(December 21, 1921 - December 17, 2012)


Cora Bell O’Dell, 90 of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday December 17, 2012 at home. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Thursday December 20, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Timothy Arthur officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Cora was born December 21, 1921 in Kanawha County, WV, a daughter of the late William & Martha Haywood Crum. She retired from the former Huntington State Hospital and was a member of the Twenty-Sixth Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband George Garland O’Dell, two sisters & three brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Anderson (Sherrill), Nellie Jones (Pete), & Shannon Clark (Allen) all of Huntington, were the loves of her life, two sisters, Dorothy Salmons (Bob) of Turkey Creek, KY, & Rose Sellards (John) of Huntington, six grandchildren, several great & great-great-grandchildren, The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center ICU and 4th floor Medical Unit for the wonderful care and kindness shown to our mother, whom we dearly love and will miss. She is in God’s care, healed and happy. A special thanks to Vicki Crook from Hospice, for her kindness and support and to Verla Slone, her caregiver for her loving care.
