Jessie E. Gosnay
(November 11, 1912 - December 24, 2012)



Jessie E. Gosnay, 100, of Huntington, WV, passed away with her family at her side, Monday December 24, 2012 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, OH. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday December 28, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Don Walker officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Jessie was born November 11, 1912 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late William Oscar & Elizabeth McDaniel Carper. She was the oldest living member of the former 20th St. Baptist Church and was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Stephen Gosnay, two sons, Clifford Eugene Gosnay & Billy Mack Gosnay, one grandson, Daniel Stephen Gosnay, one sister, Avis Gray, one son-in-law, Tom Barton, one great-grandchild, Jamie Malanowski, and two great great-grandchildren, Trinity & Brianna. Survivors include two daughters, Pat (John) Boston of South Point, OH & Stephanie Ann Barton of Huntington, one son, Stephen Mark (Judy) Gosnay of Ona, WV, one daughter-in-law, Sue Gosnay of Ona, nine grandchildren, Mike Gosnay, Terry Malanowski, Deborah (Tom) Hall, Karen (Stacy) Sagar, Tab (Tara) Barton, John (Kristy) Boston, Catherine (Andy) Frasure, Craig Gosnay & Amanda Gosnay, 13 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, and special friends, John & Ruth Meadows of Huntington. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Heartland of Riverview for all their loving care. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 1:00 PM until service time on Friday.
