Obituary

Ivan Lee Farley
(January 24, 1958 - December 1, 2012)

Ivan Lee Farley, 54, of Huntington, died on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Born January 24, 1958, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of Ivan Curtis Farley and the late Rosetta Ann Lowery Farley. If you knew him you could not help but love him. He was truly a kind soul. His clever wit and sense of humor were unsurpassed. He was an avid sports fan and loved participating in fantasy baseball and football leagues over the last 27 years. He was a coach at Little League 3 and enjoyed coaching his sons. He loved Huntington High Football and watching his sons play. He was extremely proud of his sons and their accomplishments over the years. He dearly loved his family and was coping with the loss of his precious mother in 2011. Last but not least he was a West Virginia Mountaineer Fan. He loved them good or bad, win or lose and no one or nothing could ever change that. Ivan is preceded in death by his mother, Rosetta “Mary Ann” Lowery Farley and sister, Debbie, who passed shortly after her birth and niece, Amy Farley. Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 30 years, Wendy Lilly Farley of Huntington; his loving sons, Stephen and Mickey Farley of Huntington; his father, Ivan Farley of Daniels; brothers, Wayne Farley of Daniels and David Farley and wife Rei also of Daniels; brothers in Law, Alan Lilly and wife Junko of Holly, MI and Jeffrey Lilly and wife Kim of New London, NC; nephews, Kody Lilly of New London, NC and Noah Farley of Daniels; nieces, Samantha and Jade of Holly, MI and Ashley Mills of Daniels; many dear friends and co-workers. He was a Civil Engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Huntington for the last 29 years. His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center MICU in Huntington as they fought hard to save his precious life. You gave him care, comfort, compassion and calmed his fears as he ended his journey here on this earth and was embraced by God’s Loving Arms. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary in Huntington. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM and he will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV.
