Ruby Adkins

Ruby “Granny Ruby” Adkins, 87, of Huntington, WV, widow of Walter N. Adkins, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Cledith Campbell, Jr officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born December 15, 1924 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Dink and Rachel Nance Adkins. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Victory Center. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Kay Neely; a son and daughter-in-law, Newman and Mille Adkins, both of Huntington; three grandchildren, Rachel and Justin Woods, Maggie and Matt Newcome, and Saul Adkins and his fiancé Whitney Mathis, all of Huntington, and a special great granddaughter, Kaylynn Newcome. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
