Daniel Rutledge Martin

Daniel Rutledge Martin, 58, of Huntington, WV, died suddenly in his home Saturday, September 1, 2012. Daniel was born June 9, 1954 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Lewis Harold and Gale Rutledge Martin. He attended Fairland High School in Ohio and graduated from Marshall University. Daniel was a gentle soul and a wonderful caregiver to his mother and aunt, in their later years, and others in his community and he was a skilled craftsman. He was the social link and historian for our family and we will miss his intelligence and humor. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother Greg. Survivors include his wife Deborah Wells, one sister, Nancy Best of Georgetown, TX, one brother, Tom Martin of Houston, TX; a nephew, Micah Martin and family of Sarasota, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service celebrating Daniel’s life will be held at a later date. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
