Raymond H. "Buck" Dawson
(October 20, 1920 - September 2, 2012)


Raymond H. “Buck” Dawson, 91, of Huntington, widower of Wanda Sharpe Dawson, passed away Sunday September 2, 2012 at River’s Bend Health Care, South Point, OH. He was born October 20, 1920, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Ray and Virgie Robinson Dawson. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Ann Dawson Jarboe and a son, Raymond Lee Dawson. Buck was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 2, VFW Post 1064, and the American Legion Post 16. He was retired from special metals as a metal roller and a member of the Quarter Century Club. Survivors include his three grandchildren, John Jarboe of Huntington, Todd Raymond Dawson and wife Katelyn Dawson of Austin, TX, and Brooke Ann Dawson Bruno and husband Brad Bruno of Covington, GA. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday September 7, 2012 at the Abbey of Remembrance in Woodmere Memorial Park with Pastor Robert Ray officiating and Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call after 10:30 AM at the cemetery.
