Virginia L. Hoffman
(January 19, 1918 - September 4, 2012)



VIRGINIA LAWRENCE HOFFMAN, 94, of Wells, Nev., formerly of Proctorville, Ohio, died Sept. 4, 2012, in Nevada Northern Regional Hospital, Elko, Nev. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington by Pastor Richard Sexton. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. She was born January 19, 1918, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Hezekiah “H.K.” and Lillie M. Lawrence. She was a member of the Wells Presbyterian Church, Wells, Nev. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hoffman; two sisters, Frances Dudding and June Strehle; one brother, James “Jimmy” Lawrence. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary McComas and Buddy E. Zearing, III; two sisters, Oleta Lawrence and Betty Meadows; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Kie Lawrence, Bob and Elna Lawrence, David and Jeanette Lawrence, Boyce and Sandra Lawrence, and Joyce Lawrence (widow of the late James Lawrence); one granddaughter, Tonya Zearing; two great-granddaughters, Heather Brown and Alyssia Seech; one great-great-granddaughter, Allison Nicole Brown; a very special niece, Joyce Miller; and several nieces and nephews; a very dear friend, Eloise Hayes, of Proctorville, OH and many dear friends in her most recent home in Wells, Nevada. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the special friends at the Wells Senior Citizens Center, Wells, Nev. and to her precious Church family. Family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial will be held in Wells, Nev. at a time and date to be announced.
