Donald Dale Kirtley, Sr.
(November 15, 1950 - December 15, 2013)



Donald Dale Kirtley, Sr, 63, of South Point, OH, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, in the V.A. Medical Center, Huntington, WV. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Donald was born November 15, 1950 in Huntington, WV the second son of the late Thomas L. and Mary Elizabeth Elkins Kirtley. He had just recently retired from the V.A. Medical Center and worked for Warren Industries in Lafayette, IN for the majority of his life. Donald was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Kirtley, Jr. Survivors include: his wife, Julia Kirtley of South Point, OH; daughter, Angela Neal and husband David of Lafayette, IN; son Donald Kirtley, Jr of Tell City, IN; four grandchildren, David Neal, Julie Douglas, Jeffrey Douglas, Jr., and Charles Grant Kirtley, all of Indiana; two sisters, Suzie Hurst and husband Denny and Tammy Kirtley, all of Lafayette; three brothers, John Kirtley and wife Della of Revena, OH, Morris Kirtley of Huntington and Robert Kirtley and wife Vivian of Veedersburg, IN; and one sister-in-law, Judy Teremi and husband Denny of South Point. The relationships he developed over the past five years with people he worked with at the VA Hospital were precious to him. His first love was his job. He rarely missed a day of work. Donald enjoyed visiting Casinos, playing poker at Denny and Judy's, hunting, fishing, singing country music, playing pool, and riding his Harley. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday December 18, 2013.
