Mary Elizabeth Perkins
(December 22, 1926 - December 30, 2013)



Mary Elizabeth Perkins, 87, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Jeffrey Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Mary was born December 22, 1926 in Huntington a daughter of the late Charles Coleman and Josephene Vancel Snyder Jameson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lee “Bud” “Perk” Perkins. She was a cashier for the former B & B Supermarket for 23 years; was a member of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church; and was a life member of Guyandotte Chapter #89 OES. Survivors include: a daughter, Becky Smith of Huntington; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles Perkins of Grayson, KY, Henry and Lisa Perkins of Hurricane, WV, and David and Pauline Perkins of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Zachary William Smith, ZaneAllen Smith, Meghan Perkins, Josh Perkins, Chris Perkins and his wife Cassie, David L. Perkins, and Devin S. Perkins; two step grandchildren, Kelsie McComas and Joshua Carter; one great grandchild, Kyleigh Grace; a blessed granddaughter yet to be born; and a loving caregiver, Barb. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, 3031-4th Avenue, Huntington, WV 25702. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary.
