"Wally" Walter L. Summers, Jr

Mr. “Wally” Walter L. Summers, Jr., 53, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Mr. Jerry Lake officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born on October 22, 1960 in Huntington, a son of Walter L. Summers, Sr, of Huntington and the late Anna Gulacsi Summers. He was in Nursing Administration at the Mildred-Mitchell Bateman Hospital, and was a member of VFW post 9738 Auxiliary. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his Great Dane, “Sounder”. Additional survivors include: his brother Mike Summers of Huntington, his caring and loving girlfriend, Karen Thompson of Huntington; three aunts, Dorothy Summers of Huntington, Julia Lake of Barboursville and Rosie Lauterbauch of Virginia; other loving family members and his co-workers at Mildred-Mitchell Bateman Hospital. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be sent to Little Victories Animal Rescue Group. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
