Billy Joe Burd, 81, of Huntington, WV, of Florida, died Thursday, October 16, 2014, in Teays Valley Center, Hurricane, WV. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Altizer Baptist Church, with Pastor Cledith Campbell officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Billy was born April 27, 1933 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Otis Cleveland & Augusta Day Burd. Billy was a retired Industrial Engineer from A.C.F. Industries. He was a member of the Altizer Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by nine brothers & sisters. Survivors include his wife Betty Lorene Fisher Burd, two sons, Billy Joe Burd, Jr & wife Barbara of Cincinnati, OH, Bob Burd & wife Linda of Barboursville, one sister, Virginia Laing of Spring Hill, FL, two grandchildren, Kristy Burd Tackett & husband Steve of Greenup, KY, Amy Burd Walls of Huntington, four great grandchildren, Blake Walls, Spencer & Brooklyn Tackett and Joseph Brunty. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday October 20, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
