Sherry Lynne Hensley
(August 15, 1951 - October 30, 2014)



Sherry Lynne Hensley, 63, of Huntington, widow of Roger Edward Hensley, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary with Rev. Rob Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Sherry was born August 15, 1951, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Herman and Selma Vivian Cooper Hix. A brother, Russell David Hix, also preceded her in death. She was a former seamstress for Corbin Ltd., and had managed Imperial Lanes Bowling Alley for a few years, and loved gardening. She was a good union member having been a former President of ACTWU Local 747 at Corbin Ltd, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 9738, Guyandotte. Survivors include her son, Jack David “Davie” Kain of Huntington; two nieces, Kimberly “Kimmie” Shafer, and husband, Jack of Huntington, and Sheila McCoy of Huntington; special sister-in-law, Nadine Hensley; great nieces, Tanner and Tessa McCoy, and Jessica Johnson; great nephews, Bradley and Justin Johnson; great great niece, Paisley Johnson; great great nephew, Riley Johnson; two very special friends, Judy Chapman and Ruth Crawford; and her constant companions, Rascal, Spudsie, and Tobie. Friends may visit with the family 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
