Obituary

CECIL RAY PLANTZ Jr.
(January 3, 1925 - October 25, 2014)


CECIL RAY PLANTZ JR., 89 of Huntington, passed away, Oct. 25th of natural causes after a long and active life. He was born January 3rd 1925 and is preceded in death by his parents Cecil Ray Plantz Sr. and Maude Ruth Plantz. Cecil (Ray) was the youngest of six children and the last remaining of his siblings. Cecil attended school in Huntington before joining the United States Army upon which he proudly served during WWII and was stationed in Greenland. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Travis Plantz and later to his second wife Martha (Sissie) Plantz to which he was happily married for over forty years. Cecil spent his working career in sheet metal where he worked during that time at Wilcox and Gatch, which was located in Huntington. He is survived by his daughter Brenda L. Plantz of Seattle, Washington, and numerous nephews and nieces and their families. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 31st at Woodmere Memorial Park located by Norway Ave. and 2701 Washington Blvd. All are invited to come, as doors will be opened for visiting at 10:30 a.m. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington is assisting the family.
