Obituary



Ann W. Brooks, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Tim Yates officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born August 8, 1933 in Kistler, WV a daughter of the late Norman and Opal Faye Yeager Watts. Her brother, David Watts and two nieces, Brenda Watts and Debbie Watts, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church and attended Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. She was initiated on May 12, 1970 into the Barboursville Chapter #95 OES, where she was Past Matron, Grand Representative of Maine in West Virginia and Grand Esther for the Grand Chapter of West Virginia in 1994-1995 and was currently a member of Guyandotte Chapter #89 OES. Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Karl Albert Brooks; two daughters, Robbyn Thompson of Huntington and Carol (Steven) Dixon of Marietta, OH; a grandson, Joe (Julia) Dixon of Ohio; a brother, Charles (Faye) Watts of Huntington; and a nephew, Charles Watts, Jr. She will be sadly missed by her adoring husband and children. We will be together again. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary, where an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 6:00 pm.
