Obituary



Jerry Alan Hawthorne, 85, of Milton, WV, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, with Rev. Richard Sexton officiating. Veteran's Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. He was born March 27, 1931 in Chesapeake, OH a son of the late Kenneth and Flora Bone Hawthorne. He was retired from CSX; was a U.S. Navy veteran; and was a member of VFW. Survivors include: his wife, Katherine "Bobbie" Hawthorne; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley A. White, Jr. and Brenda A. White of Richmond, VA and Jerry Alan Hawthorne, Jr. and Dani Jane Hawthorne of Frankfort, KY; four granddaughters, Robyn Williams of Richmond, VA, Kathy Jo Atkins and Nikki White, both of Freeman, VA, and Anna Danay Burke and her husband, David of Lexington, KY; five great grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Larry Lee and Mary Hawthorne of Huntington. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, May 2, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 pm Tuesday.
