Shawn Livingston Deming, 56, of Huntington, husband of Gretchen Zabel Deming, passed away Monday April 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born July 14, 1959 in Adrian, MI. a son of Emelee Balis Deming of Vienna, WV., and the late Devere "Pete" Deming. He was a former truck driver and was a semi-pro football player in 1997and1998 with the West Virginia Cardinals. He was an avid Horseman who loved to work the ranches in Montana, and loved big game hunting and guiding in Montana. Shawn was blessed with a beautiful voice from God that he shared with so many. In addition to his wife and mother additional survivors include his children, Lindsay Deming and Shawn Livingston Deming, II., both of Huntington, Heather Miller Hess and husband, Denver Hess of Marietta, OH, and Brandon Miller of Parkersburg, WV; two grandchildren, Ava Elise Harris and Selenia Meretta Harris, both of Huntington; two sisters, Debbye Ward and Brooke Rutter and husband, Christian Rutter; a brother and his financee, Todd Deming and Rebekah Pauley; in-laws, Albert and Patricia Zabel, Joe and Christie Zabel, and Kurt and Sandy Zabel; nieces and nephews, Ryan Ward, Jonathan Deming and fiancee Cherry Goodwin, Johnna Travaille, EmeleeManhattan Deming, Myrrha Deming, A.J. Zabel, Katie Zabel, and Julie Zabel, Lexis Deming, Journey Deming, and Kansas Deming; special friend, Timothy Smith; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and dogs, Rocky and Rochelle, and cat, Bella. Friends may visit with family 5:30-7:30 pm Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, and from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday at the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church, 4124 14th Ave, Parkersburg, WV, 26101. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, April, 29, 2016 at the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church with Don Balis and Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV.
