Desmond Henry Byrne, 70, of Glenwood, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 20, 1945, in West Chester, PA, a son of the late Patrick and Dorothy Creed Byrne. He retired as a Hospital Administrator for the State of WV, and had served as Past President of the Board at the Ohio River Road Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include: his wife, Denise Weldon Byrne; one sister, Rosemary Byrne; one brother and his wife, Patrick Byrne and Janice; four nieces, Kelly Byrne, Jackie Reynolds, Juli Stewart and Kathleen Searls; two nephews, Michael Parker and Kevin Byrne; sister-in-law and her husband, Debbie Bradley and James; brother-in-law and his wife, OJ and Ceil Weldon; and his four legged friends, Weesie, Stella and Sophie. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Paul Patton officiating. Friends may visit with the family 30 minutes prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
