Obituary



Oscar Francis Evans, 82, of Huntington, WV, died Thursday March 31, 2016 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday April 3, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Rev. Charles Caserta officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Oscar was born May 14, 1933 in Parsley, WV a son of the late Henry and Ersie Marie Evans. He was a watch maker and Jeweler with Man Clothing and Jewelry in Man, WV and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW in Man, WV and DAV Chapter 2. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Mullins Evans; his second wife, Cheryl Fox Evans; two brothers, William and Ted Evans, three sisters, Jean Drautz, Pearl Falk and Hazel Banfield. Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Lambert Evans of Huntington, Shiela Evans of Erlanger, KY and Denise (David) Deel of Clayton, NC, one son, Michael Evans of Huntington, one sister, Leta (Larry) Davis of Naples, FL, one brother, Charles (Clair) Evans of Dry Prong, LA, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. The family would like to thank special friend and caregiver Gena Lewis for all her loving care. Friends may call after noon until 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites.
