John ("Jack") Jacob Kendell, Jr., 72, of Huntington, WV, died Sunday March 27, 2016 at Heritage Center. John was born was February 6, 1944 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late John J. Kendell, Sr. and Dorothy Jane Boette Kendell. He attended High School at Valley Forge Military Academy and received his BBA and MBA degrees from Marshall University. He was an Adjunct Professor of Finance, Insurance and Economics at Marshall University, also taught Economics at Florida Atlantic University. He was a Personnel Specialist in the U.S. Army for three years. He was employed in the Insurance and Financial industry in Huntington and Ft Lauderdale for more than 45 years. He was a Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter. Jack was active in numerous civic and community organizations, including Board of Directors of Marshall Alumni Association. He enjoyed tennis, golf, dancing and social events. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Julia Larson. Survivors include a son, Jay Kendell of Bellbrook, OH and a nephew, Dan Larson, Jr. of Madisonville, TN. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
