Obituary


Jack Sharkey Clay, Sr., 87, of South Shore, KY, formerly of Huntington, WV, died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, OH. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday December 15, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Clyde Salmons officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Cliff Cemetery, Wayne County, WV. Jack was born June 22, 1930 in Kirk, WV (Mingo Co.), a son of the late Otis and Hazel Marcum Clay. He was a retired minister. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Clay, one son, Johnny Clay, two daughters, Cassie Saunders and Marie Clay, four brothers, George, Clancy, James and Otis Clay, Jr., and one sister, Juanita Waple. Survivors include seven children, Rocky (Melba) Clay and Danny Clay all of Summersville, WV, Patricia Chafin of Charlotte, NC, Beverly Clay, Jimmy Clay and Loretta (Julio) DeJesus all of Dingess, WV and Jack Clay, Jr and (Anthony Dickerson) of South Shore, KY, three sisters, Doris Cueva and Melda Trogdon both of Huntington and Brenda Means of Melissa, WV, one brother, Phillip Clay of Huntington, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Carrie Clay of Lavalette, WV. Visitation will be at Chapman's Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday December 14, 2017.
