Rodney Paul Hendrick, 66, of Lesage, WV, husband of Karen Lee Adkins Hendrick, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1951 in Huntington a son of Jay H. Hendrick of Lesage and the late Pauline Wellman Hendrick. His son, Joseph Lee Hendrick also preceded him in death. He was an independent driver for the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of the Ohio River Road Volunteer Fire Department for the past 47 years, eventually becoming the Safety Officer. Rodney attended the Cox Landing United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and father survivors include, a daughter, Shanna Hendrick of Lesage; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney Paul Hendrick, Jr. and Alma "Amy" Hendrick of Wayne, WV; a step grandson, Ellis Stapleton of New Martin, TN; two step great grandchildren, Natalie Stapleton and Walker Stapleton, both of New Martin, TN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, twin brother, Robert J. "Jack" and Glenna Hendrick of Huntington, and Stephen J. "Wig" and Gail Hendrick of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington. Pallbearers will be members of the Ohio River Road Fire Department. Burial will be in Herrenkohl Cemetery, Lesage, WV. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
