Mrs. Dorothy G. Arkell, 90, a lifelong resident of the Altizer section, Huntington, WV, widow of Charles W. Arkell, Sr., passed away, Friday, August 13, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Harmony United Methodist Church (formerly Riverview United Methodist Church), where she was a faithful member, with Rev. Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery, Milton, WV. She was born September 20, 1919, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late. Clyde and Virginia Harbour Swan. A son, Charles Arkell, jr, preceded her in death. Surviving are 3 daughters Peggy (Wayman) Turman of Barboursville, WV; Bonnie (Tracy) Lipscomb of Barboursville, and Vicki Arkell of Prescott, AZ, her daughter-in-law and her spouse, Carol and Howard Meadows, of Ona, WV; granchildren; Kellie Turman (David) Plumley, Tyler (Tracey) Arkell, Evan (Becky) Arkell, Joshua (Kara) Stone, Jordan (Stephanie) Stone, Tyson Lipscomb and Kelsey Lipscomb; great grandchildren, Griffin, Kendall, Chase, Dylan, Bailey, Carlie, Taylor, and Morgan. Friends may call at Harmony United Methodist Church (3800 Riverside Drive, Altizer, Huntington, WV after 12:00 noon Monday August 16, 2010.
