Glenna Lou Ours
(April 14, 1925 - August 9, 2010)



Glenna Lou Ours, 85, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010, at St Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. She was born on April 14, 1925 in Claxton, GA, a daughter of the late Glenn Ambrose Little and Martha Mae Kicklighter Little. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepmother Travis Little; her daughter-in-law Mary Cathrine "Kitti" Ours; and her two brothers Glenn Ambrose Little, Jr. and Amiss Wendell Little. She is survived by her beloved husband, Leo E. Ours, Sr. of Huntington; her two loving sons, Leo E. Ours, Jr. and his fianc' Linda Freeman of Tampa, Florida and Rodney Ours and his wife Wanda of Dunedin, Florida; four grandchildren, Clinton and his wife Irene, Leo III and his wife Maria, Christopher and his wife Veronica, and Erin Ours; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kathryn, Alexandra, and Ansley. She is also survived by her sisters, Jewel Surgeon, Doris Haws, Martha Terrell, Betty Travis, and Carol Metz; sisters-in-law Rosemary and Pat Little; a very special niece and nephew, Donna and David Osborne and a host of extended family and friends. She graduated from Ceredo Kenova High School and was a former employee of Owens-Illinois Glass Company. Glenna was a joyfully active member in the Crossroads United Methodist Church family, where she was a member of the Susanna Circle, a compassionate co-leader of the church's prayer chain, and often shared her gift of photography at church events. Glenna was also a dedicated volunteer for the Red Cross; was an avid golfer; and was a member of Guyandotte Chapter #89 OES. In addition to her many thoughtful endeavors within the community, she was an incredible and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2010, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Huntington, with Pastor David Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 12, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, where an Eastern Star Service will be held at 6:30 PM.
