    A. W. "Woody" Hobbs, 90, of 
    Barboursville, WV, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical 
    Center. He was born September 23, 1919 in Narrows, VA, a son of the late 
    William and Nellie Spangler Hobbs. He was also preceded in death by his 
    wife, Rosalee Hobbs; five brothers and sisters; and four half brothers and 
    sisters. He was the owner of Barboursville Block and Transfer and a U.S. 
    Army veteran of World War II. He attended Olive Baptist Church. Survivors 
    include: a son, Harry and Paulette Hobbs of Ona, WV; two daughters and 
    sons-in-law, Barbara and Potsy VanMeter of Lesage, WV and LeeAndra and Randy 
    Mills of Wayne, WV; seven grandchildren, Tim VanMeter and his wife Sharon., 
    Misty VanMeter and Erik (Pooh) VanMeter, all of Lesage, Angie Hobbs of 
    Columbus, OH, Jeff Hobbs and his wife Magan of Milton, and Joseph Mills and 
    Benjamin Mills, both of Wayne, WV; six great grandchildren, Michele, Dakotah, 
    and Justin VanMeter of Lesage, and Caleb Hobbs, Dominick Crank and Logan 
    Hobbs, all of Milton, and several nieces and nephews, including special 
    nieces Barbara Richardson, Sandra White, Carol Runyan, and Lynn Cox. 
    Graveside services will be conducted 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at 
    White Chapel Mausoleum, Barboursville, with Pastor Gordon Rutherford 
    officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 
    Barboursville. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 3, 2010 
    at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.
