Gaillen B. Cheatham

Gaillen B. Cheatham, 92, of Huntington, WV, died Monday March 15, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday March 19, 2010 at 26th St. Baptist Church (2510 10th Ave.) with Pastor Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Gaillen was born July 22, 1917 in Cabell County, WV. He was former owner & operator of Cheatham's Automotive Service. He was a member of the 26th St. Baptist Church since 1939, taught Sunday School since 1951, was a Deacon, drove the church bus for many years, was a Gideon, and a Trustee for the Guyandotte Baptist Church camp. An infant son & his wife Arretta L. Cheatham preceded him in death. Survivors include his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; Harold & Beatrice Austin, Roger & Arlene Austin & Earl Richmond, nieces; Pamela Shilot, Becky Harshbarger, Michelle & Kayla, nephews; Ed & Calvin Swann, Mike & Carl Richmond, and Craig Austin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideon's or to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday March 18, 2010.
