Edna Eileen Wood
(December 6, 1931 - March 3, 2010)



Edna Eileen Wood 78, widow of Walter Wood, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in River's Bend Healthcare, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Rev. J. William DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery. She was born December 6, 1931, in Proctorville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter and Nellie McComas Nance. Two sisters, Judy Hesson and Jean Gothard also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Otterbein/Faith United Methodist Church. Survivors include: three daughters, Karen Jones and her husband Alan, and Kimberly Wallace and her husband Chris all of Huntington, Kristin Wood and her fianc'e Jerry Sumpter of Beaver, WV; three sisters, Frankie Stephens, Kay Fuller, Susie and Tim Fuller all of Proctorville, OH; three brothers, Norman and Peggy Nance of Proctorville, OH, Jim and Geraldine Nance of Crown City, OH, and Bill Nance of Proctorville, OH; five grandchildren, Courtney Jones Adkins and her husband David, Derek Jones and his fianc'e Jennifer Bowman, Zachary Wallace, Brealin Wallace, Braeden Wood and Clairee Lowery; one great-grandchild, Garrett Adkins. Friends may call from noon to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
