Joseph K. Pakstis
(February 28, 1923 - March 12, 2010)



Joseph K. Pakstis, 87, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral liturgy will be conducted 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Huntington, with Father Jim Sobus officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. He was born February 28, 1923 in Elizabeth, NJ a son of the late Joseph C. and Teresa Yeskavage Pakstis. He was retired from Mobay Chemical, which is now Bayer Chemical. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the African Campaign and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and DAV. He served as a Cub Scout Leader, a Scout Master, and Troop Leader; bowled with the Senior League at the Strike Zone; and loved cats. Survivors include: his wife, Helen R. Pakstis; a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and James King of Fishers, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory J. and Sylvia Pakstis of Orlando, FL; a grandson, Brenden Mullins of Fishers, IN; and a sister, Teresa Wasilewski of Elizabeth, NJ. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made in Joe's name to the ASPCA. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, March 15, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM.
