Golden "Jeff" Jeffers
(March 14, 1925 - March 13, 2010)



Golden "Jeff" Jeffers, 84, of Proctorville, OH, formerly of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 13, 2010 from St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1925 in Branchland, WV, a son of the late Emmitt and Effie Dean Jeffers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy Jean Lambert Jeffers; two sons, Christopher Allen Jeffers and Ronald Keith Jeffers; two infant daughters, Connie Jo Jeffers and Kathy Sue Jeffers; grandson, Danny Jeffers; brother, Golza "Buck" Jeffers; and two sisters, Goldie Gonzales and Avelene Jeffers. Jeff was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WW II. He was retired from Acme Machinery as a line foreman, was a member of Altizer Freewill Baptist Church, and life member of the honor guard with V.F.W. Post 6878 Proctorville, OH, whose members will conduct military graveside rites. Survivors include his wife, Carole Campbell Jeffers of Proctorville; son, Jackie Terry of Hamlin; two step sons, David Campbell of Huntington and Mark Campbell of Kenova; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Jack Worley of Proctorville, and Jewell Clay Cremeans and Buddy Cremeans of South Point, OH; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Dock and Vaughn Jeffers of Bluefield, VA, Perlie and Evelyn Jeffers of Barboursville, Grady and Mary Jeffers of Milton, and Andrew Jack and Dollie Jeffers of Michigan; four granddaughters, Christina Jeffers, Christa Jeffers, Amber Jeffers, and Jessica Terry; three grandsons, Bryan Jeffers, Matthew Jeffers and Michael Terry; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM Tuesday March 16, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary with the Rev. Caudle Adkins and Pastor Fred Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery, Branchland, WV. Friends may call after 11:30 AM Tuesday until service time at Chapman's Mortuary.
