Joseph M. Vaughan

JOSEPH M. VAUGHAN, 84, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Funeral services will be at 3 P.M. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Baptist Temple, where Joe was a long time member, by the Reverend J. Andrew Magnusson. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Norma Geisler Vaughan and a son, Joseph Melvin Vaughan, II. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Eloise "Weasie" Rowsey Vaughan, a daughter, Valerie Ann Vaughan Wall, and two grandsons, Ryan Joseph Wall and Tanner Vaughan Wall, each of whom carry on his namesake. Joe graduated from Huntington East High School, attended Marshall University and was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a pharmacist degree. His parents were the owners of Vaughan's Pharmacy on 20th Street, where Joe started his pharmacy career. He retired from Hart's Pharmacy. Joe was an avid golfer, tennis player and staunch Marshall supporter. He was a WWII veteran and a member of the Masons. After retirement, Joe spent his time traveling with his family, golfing, playing tennis and attending Marshall games. He will be missed. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Baptist Temple. Chapman.s Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
