Hiawatha Nokomis Curtis
(October 1, 1926 - September 14, 2010)


Hiawatha Nokomis Curtis, 83, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, September 17, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Dennis Morrello officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born October 1, 1926 in Huntington a daughter of the late Thomas Scott and Nellie Wray Jarrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on September 24, 1945, Howard Leland Curtis; her son, Rolland Leland Curtis; three sisters, Clara Ellen Jarrell Davis, Evelyn Jarrell Popovich, and Betty Eileen Jarrell Nichols; and three brothers, Charles Thomas Jarrell, Densil Culvar Jarrell, and Russell Jarrell. Survivors include: nieces and nephews, Darrell Nichols of Miami, FL, Roger and Dorothy Cox of Greenup, KY, Carol Rojas of Hesperia, CA, Von and Ken McIntosh of Grove City, OH, Ramona Guerria of Alta Loma, CA, Juanita Guinn of Bradenton, FL, Vince and Ruth Jarrell of Lesage, WV and Ray Davis of Tampa, FL; her special friend, Mary Boren; special grandchildren, Vittoria Bailey, Chantica Wheeler, and Michalle Boren; and special great grandchildren, Zoe Wheeler, Quinten Bailey, Hezekai Boren Howley, Kiren Boren-Howley, Elizabeth Davis, Dakota Chambers, and Evan Bailey.
