William Eugene "Gene" Galyean II
(July 17, 1962 - September 15, 2010)



William Eugene "Gene" Galyean, II, 48, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastors Keith Leap and Steve Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born July 17, 1962, in Huntington, a son of William E. "Bill" and Lois Heck Galyean of Huntington. Gene graduated in 1980 from Huntington East High School and in 1982 from Huntington Junior College of Business with a degree in Business Management. He was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church and was employed at the Cracker Barrel in Barboursville. Gene was preceded in death by a nephew, Joshua S. Barker. Two sisters, Deborah G. Barker and her fianc'e, James A. Saylor, Jr. of Lexington, KY and Cathleen L. Galyean and her fianc'e Gary Hearnshaw of Hurricane, WV; a nephew, Jeremy R. Barker of Charleston, WV; a very dear cousin, Tamara Stidham and her sons Michael and Nicholaus Stidham of Muncie, IN also survive Gene, along with many close friends and aquaintanences. Friends may call from noon to service time Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association in Genes memory. Gene lived his life as a free giving soul and was well liked by all who knew him, always greeting everyone with a smile on his face.
