Robert H. W. Cartmill
(February 4, 1920 - February 16, 2013)


Mr. Robert H. W. Cartmill, 93, of Huntington, went to be with The Lord Saturday, February 16, 2013, at The Woodlands Health Care. He was born February 4, 1920, in Huntington, a son of the late Robert and Ada Nelson Cartmill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Edsel, his sister, Virginia Bowen, and his daughter Sandra Cunningham. He was blessed with two wonderful wives that preceded him in death, Pauline “Chick” Cartmill, who were married for 54 years, and his second wife Polly Cartmill for 15 years. He is survived by his sons, Jerry Cartmill, of Huntington, Donald “Morty” Cartmill and wife Judy of Flatwoods, KY, a daughter, Rosalie Stone of South Point, OH, his sister-in-law, Evelyn Cartmill of Versalles, KY, and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob attended Marshall, and he retired from INCO after 45 years of service. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy, serving during WW II. He is a member of First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Dr. Mark Conner officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Veterans Honor Guard, Post 16, will give Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until service time at Chapman’s Mortuary Tuesday, February 19th, 2013. Pallbearers will be Roger Garcia, John Hill, Dave Mers, and Rick Pulcrano.
