Dorcie Irene Steinbrecher
(March 26, 1930 - February 16, 2013)



Dorcie Irene Steinbrecher, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jeff Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Dorcie was born March 26, 1930 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Alva Lloyd and Donna Rae Massie Martin. Her husband of 62 years, James M. Steinbrecher, a sister, Mildred M. Chapman Hall and a grandson, Michael Steinbrecher, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church and was co-founder of the Tri-State Area Transplant Support Group. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Debra Kay and Frank Long of Tyrone, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cindi Steinbrecher and Duane and Kimberly Steinbrecher, all of Huntington; a sister, Carol Young of Farmington, Maine; a brother and sister-in-law, Vernon L. and Gail Martin of Proctorville, OH; a sister-in-law, Beverly (Bob) Weant of Huntington; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Ralph H. Hall of Ona, WV and Jack E. (Jackie) Steinbrecher of Greer, SC; eight grandchildren, Susan (John) Marsalis of Fayetteville, GA, Sara (Jason) Waters of Canton, GA, Corey (Jessica) Steinbrecher of Barboursville, WV, Christina Steinbrecher Knowles of Jacksonville, FL, Lauren Hutchison, Jerry Lambert, and Ben and Daniel Steinbrecher, all of Huntington; six great grandchildren, Hannah and Harrison Marsalis, Madelyn and Wesley Waters, Hayden Lambert and Jessalynn Steinbrecher; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to the Tri-State Area Transplant Support Group. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary.
