Lindsey Mitchell Hale, Jr.
(March 4, 1930 - February 2, 2013)



Lindsey M. Hale, Jr., 82 of Columbus, OH, died Saturday February 2, 2013 in Grant Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday February 8, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Ernest Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Lindsey was born March 4, 1930 in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Lindsey M. Hale, Sr. and the late Maggie Bunn Hale. He was a four year veteran of the Air Force. He was a retired IT supervisor for the U.S. Defense Command Supply Center, Columbus, OH. One brother, Wiley Hale and three sisters, Gaynell Rhodes, Wilda Melton and Winona Harshbarger, preceded him in death. He is survived by close friends, and a niece Joan Danner and husband Darryl of Weston, WV, and a nephew Ronnie Rhodes of Huntington, two grandnephews Randall Orr of Latrobe, PA, Michael Orr of Wachung, NJ and a great-grandnephew Alexander Melton Orr. He is also survived by his former boss and long time friend David Evans of Florida. The family requests that in lieu of flowers friends can make a donation to the charity of ones choice. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call after 1:00 PM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
