Maxine Browning Cremeans Follrod
(March 28, 1924 - February 14, 2014)



Maxine Browning Cremeans Follrod born in Cabell County March 28, 1924, daughter of the late Enis and Ora Isaacs Browning, passed away Friday evening, February 14 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was affectionately known to all of her family as Mommer. She spent 34 happy years married to the love of her life, Linville Cremeans, who passed away in 1976. She is also the widow of Joseph Follrod who passed away in 1997. She retired after 23 years as an LPN and EEG Tech with Huntington Neurosurgery. She was a life-long member of 26th Street Baptist Church and was also active in Guyandotte Chapter 89 O.E.S. for 48 years, whose members will conduct Eastern Star services Monday at 7:30 PM. In addition to loving her church and spending time with her family, she enjoyed quilting each week with the Quilting Circle and Golden Age Group at the church. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by a daughter Donna Davis; a grandson, Bruce Davis; a brother and sister-in-law Lindy and Twyla Browning; two sisters, Imogene Smith and Pat Stewart. Survivors include two daughters Connie (Colin) Craythorne of Greensboro, NC and Nancy (Randy) Moye of Blacksburg, VA; three sisters, Eloise Cooksey, Phyllis Davis and Rosemary Browning all of Huntington, WV, eight grandchildren Paul (Sandy) Davis of Huntington, Michelle (Mickey) Hypes of Florida, Leslie (Lawrence) Tawney of Virginia, Lindsay (Grant) Stickler of Virginia, Leigh Ann Moye of Virginia, Suzanne (Rob) Lennox of London, England, Michael Craythorne of Charleston, WV, and Paul Craythorne of Georgia; and 14 great-grandchildren Crissy Elkins, Garrett (Sara) Davis, Tyler Davis, B.J. Davis, Alex Davis, Ashley Davis, Colin Craythorne, Tyler Craythorne, Aidan Craythorne, Phoebe Lennox, Randi Lynn Tawney, Jack Tawney, Braxton Cox, and Lily Cox. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Twenty-Sixth St. Baptist Church, 2510 10th Ave. Huntington, WV 25703. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00PM Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday February 17, 2014.
