Obituary

Oliver Wendell Stepp, Jr.
(June 30, 1953 - February 9, 2014)



Oliver Wendell Stepp, Jr., 60, of Huntington, WV passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Pastor Roger Branham officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, Huntington, conducting military graveside rites. He was born June 30, 1953, in Huntington, a son of the late Oliver Wendell and Mary Elizabeth Petry Stepp. One sister, Ramona Frampton and one brother Jeff Stepp also preceded him in death. He was a US Navy veteran serving on the USS Rich during the Vietnam era and serving later in the WV National Guard. He was an electrical/mechanical engineer for General Electric, and professed to be a Christian. He also taught math at ITT in Fort Wayne IN. Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin Stepp of Huntington, and John and Paula Stepp of Oak Grove, KY; two daughters, Andrea Stepp and DeLacey Stepp both of Fort Wayne, IN; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Kristiana Stepp of Columbus, OH; and 6 grandchildren. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to service time Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
