Obituary

Roenna Dudley Womeldorf
(February 24, 2014)


Roenna Dudley Womeldorf (Bunny), 95, of Huntington WV died peacefully at home with family present on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was born in Fayette County WV, but lived all her life in Huntington. She was the daughter of the late Frederick Thomas and Adine Hixenbaugh Dudley. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Mary Roeann, a son Jack Delbert Womeldorf, Jr., and a brother Hugh Clifford Dudley. She retired from Saint Mary's Hospital where she worked as a Unit Clerk on Pediatrics. A daughter, Shirley Wolmedorf Price, and a son, Thomas Dudley Womeldorf both of Huntington WV, survive her. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Charles C. (Mary) of Huntington, Patrick (Lillian), and Stephen Price (Sarah) of Chesapeake OH, Ariauna Albright of Hollywood, CA, and Stacie Womeldorf-Slavik of Colonial Heights, VA. She has eight great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Mamadorf; Taylor Price of Chesapeake OH, Jessica, Brenna, Danielle, Abigail, and Destiny Price also of Chesapeake OH, Aiden and Seth Slavik of Colonial Heights VA.. Also surviving is a dear friend and second "daughter",Virginia Edwards. She was bedfast the last year of her life and had wonderful caregivers who were truly gifts from God; Betty, Evelyn, Kathy and Shirley. A celebration of her life will be held at noon Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Chapman's Mortuary with Rev. William H. Haynes, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Beverly Hills United Methodist Church or Hospice of Huntington.
