Obituary

JOHN WILLIAM "PETE" NORRIS JR.
(April 15, 1936 - February 28, 2014)



John William “Pete” Norris, Jr. (KB8LOV), of South Point, OH, died Friday February 28, 2014 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00PM Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington, with Mr. David Richards officiating. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, OH. Pete was born April 13, 1936 in Ceredo, WV, a son of the late John William Norris, Sr. and Mary Lorraine Napier Norris. He served in the Army National Guard and was a retired general manager for National Steel. He was preceded in death by one son, John F. Norris and one sister, Lillian Joyce Hubbard. Survivors include his wife, Frances J. Norris, one daughter, Leanne Gillispie & husband Jim of Cincinnati, OH, three sons, Stephen Norris & wife Roberta of New Braunfels, TX, Randall Norris & wife Dreama of Lesage, WV, Larry Norris of Del City, OK, three sisters, Sue Wright of Huntington, Joanne Underwood of Long Beach, NC, Judy Garland of Naples, FL, several grandchildren & great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Mary Chapman & one brother-in-law, Larry Michael McDaniel both of Huntington. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center for all their loving care. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 11:00 AM Wednesday.
