Denver Melvin Carter, 67, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jamie Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in Greenbottom Memorial Park. He was born June 7, 1951 in Lesage, WV a son of the late Mike Carter, Jr. and Jewell A. Scarberry Carter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Carter. He was a former employee of Cabell Huntington Hospital for 27 years and Latta's Warehouse. Survivors include: two sons, Jonathan (Amanda) Carter and Roger (Tonya) Carter, all of Huntington; a daughter, Rebecca Carter of VA; six grandchildren, Bryce and Gabe Carter, Joshua Carter, Katelynn Baldwin, Ben Carter and Jacob Staton; two great grandchildren, Cambria Barker and Haydin Carter; five sisters, Sandy Miller of Branchland, Claudia (Rick) Cary of Barboursville, Carla "Sue" (Jerry) Meadows of Lesage, Denise Stapleton of Lavalette, and Dartha (Chris) Brumfield of Lesage; and five brothers, Mike David Carter of Branchland, Kenny Carter of Lexington, KY, Jeff (Yvonne) Carter of Lesage, Kirk Carter of Glenwood, and Doug Carter of Sandusky, OH. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the funeral home.
