Obituary



James Benjamin "Ben" Mitchell, 24, of Huntington, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, August 20, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Porterfield officiating. Entombment will be 11:00 am Monday, August 27, 2018, at Woodmere Memorial Park, Abbey of Peace, Huntington. His brothers will serve as pallbearers. He was born October 5, 1993 in Huntington a son of James A. Mitchell of Huntington and Pam Stephens Mitchell of Barboursville, WV. He was a graduate of Huntington High School where he enjoyed playing soccer and lacrosse. Ben received a BBA in Healthcare Management in 2017 at Marshall University and was currently pursuing an Accounting Degree. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and was a client caregiver with Autism Services. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Lee Mitchell. In addition to his parents, survivors include: six, brothers, Michael Jacob Mitchell, Javier J. "Soza" Mitchell, Caleb Edward Mitchell, Antony Matthew "Erling" Mitchell, Zachary Blair Mitchell, and Joshua Aaron Mitchell; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Ellen Mitchell of Huntington; maternal grandparents, Edward and Ruth Stephens of Parkersburg, WV; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ben, "We Will See You Again". Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday and after 1:00 pm Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Ben's name. If anyone has an addiction, the best way to honor Ben is to seek help. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
